Cada año el Festival Medieval d’Elx envuelve a la ciudad en la mística y los sonidos de tiempos remotos. Artistas internacionales ofrecen a través de la música, el teatro y actividades paralelas, una oportunidad excepcional de reencontrarse con el pasado.
El Festival Medieval d'Elx se consolida com una cita cultural de referencia a nivel nacional
Ya se ha presentado el XVI Festival Medieval d’Elx. Pórtico al Renacimiento que comenzará este jueves 27 de octubre y se prolongará hasta el martes 1 de noviembre. En el acto se ha contado con la presencia de la alcaldesa de Elche, Mercedes Alonso; el edil de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Elche, Pablo Ruz; y el director del Festival Medieval d’Elx, Antoni Tordera.
Todos ellos han coincidido en la consolidación del certamen y en el lugar referencial que este ocupa dentro del panorama cultural en España y en su circuito de festivales. En este sentido, la alcaldesa de Elche, Mercedes Alonso, ha recalcado que “sin duda se trata de una cita anual de referencia, incluso a nivel europeo, que se ha consolidado como piedra angular para promocionar el turismo en Elche, equiparable ya a otros festivales culturales de referencia como el de Almagro o Mérida”.
En esta ocasión, el argumento principal gira en torno a “El Bosque del Festival” tomando el bosque de aquella época como un lugar de fantasía, inspiradora de las artes y que posee una conexión con la sensibilidad actual respecto a la naturaleza. En este sentido el director del Festival Medieval d’Elx, Antoni Tordera, ha hablado de “un certamen que ha crecido en varios sentidos y ha enraizado en la ciudad”. “En esta XVI edición traemos una propuesta en la que hay espacio para la sensibilidad, la solidaridad y la ecología, y todo ello enmarcado dentro del marco del “bosque”, entendido como el mundo del imaginario” ha explicado Tordera.
En la presentación también se ha contado con la presencia de algunos de los principales patrocinadores gracias a los cuales es posible realizar un año más este certamen, tales como Teatres de la Generalitat, IFA, el Centro Comercial L’Aljub y Bancaja.
