23 octubre 04Theatres of the Generalitat Valenciana ratifies the collaboration with the Festival
In the Medieval Festival starting press conference, which took place yesterday, Juan Vicente Martínez Luciano, director of Theatres of Valencia, announced that the regional government will keep and even increase its collaboration with Elche. According to him, the city has already become an important reference in Theatre all over the country, thanks to this Festival.
The mayor of Elche, Diego Maciá, emphasized his deep gratitude whith the sponsoring entities and companies (some of them were represented in this act). There were also present José Manuel Sánchez, town councillor of Culture; Josefa Martín, representating the County Council of Alicante; and Cesar Oliva, director of the Festival. This presentation in the Hall of the Gran Teatro, which was specially decorated for the occasion, meant the official beginning off all the performances.
