First Medieval Street Market and Exhibition about "La Venida" are inaugurated

With the inauguration of the first Medieval Street Market, that will be extended until Sunday, and the Exhibition about the tradition of “La Venida de la Virgen”, Elx Medieval festival begun last Friday.
Elche’s Mayor, Diego Maciá, together with the Festival Director and different authorities of the town, traveled, as a symbolic opening, through more than a hundred stands of the market around the Basilica de Santa María. This street market will be until Sunday, however next weekend another market will also fill the streets, that time inspired in the Quijote.
On the other hand, on Friday was also inaugurated the exhibition on the 140 anniverary of the “Sociedad Venida de la Virgen”, the company that protects and takes charge of the main image of the Misteri d’Elx. This exhibition, which can be visited until the end of November, is found in CAM’s Room of Exhibitions, in the Bower.
