19 octubre 05Elx Medieval Festival presents officially its Xth Edition
On Tuesday morning the Tenth Edition of Elx Medieval Festival has been officially presented by César Oliva as the Director. There were different celebrities at the ceremony: Diego Maciá, Elche’s Mayor, José Joaquín Ripoll, President of Alicante County Council, Alfredo Mayordomo, Manager of Production Area in Teatres de la Generalitat and José Manuel Sánchez, the Town Cultural Councilor in Elche.
César Oliva has been proud of the wide range of cultural activities offered this year and has stood out that one of the objectives of the Festival is “try to mix up popular and culture, bring people and court together” for this reason, there will be theatre, performances in the street and the traditional street market.
On the other hand, José Joaquín Ripoll has underlined the support of the County Council to the Festival and the possibility of increasing the economic contribution offered. He has also emphasized the implementation of a politics in support of theatre “in order to get out of the current permanent crisis”. Besides, the President of Alicante County Council, has pointed out that this Festival sets off the cultural offer in the province due to its obvious consolidation, reason by which the tenth edition has been achieved.
