Every year the Medieval Festival of Elche involves the city in the mistic and sounds of remote times. International artists bring through music, theatre and parallel activities the opportunity to encounter the past.

Festival's History

7th Edition

The programme of this edition of the Medieval Festival started with the standard bearers procession Citta Murata, the performance of Els Buffons playing Minuta Pecata and Juana en Rouen by NSM.
During the weekend music of Alica Música and La cobla de Bergara were played, as well as Paco Curto and Archiperre, that staged classcial plays like Lazarillo and El Poema del Mío Cid.
The last week of the Festival covered seminars of medieval music and theatre, wonderful performances of the Misteri d’Elx, Música de la Vespra by Capella de Ministrers and a concert of Música de la España de los Reyes Católicos by The State Philarmonic of Moscow.

Standard bearers parade in the cityâs streets.

Banners, correfocs, medieval markets and an exposition about La Vida en los Castillos completed the annual transformation of this city during this important festival, that makes visitors to come back in time and help them to understand the origins of our thousand years old metropolis.
