Festival's History
6th Edition
The 6th Festival maintains, as in previous editions, the symbol of culture in Elx: the “Misteri d’Elx”. This happening added to the rest of artistic events from the country and from abroad keep growing and developing an atmosphere was already latent.

There is a splendid programme, with important international representation, made up by quality theatrical and musical productions. We must underline a co-production of the Festival, thanks to the new Council Institute of Culture, founded recently. That is the play El “Arcipreste” monologue, wich is a free version by Alberto Miralles, with the participation of Rafael Álvarez “El Brujo”. The exquisite sound of “Lux Aeterna”, one of the most outstanding troupes playing classical music, by Speculum will also be very relevant. Also, the theatrical version of the Spanish classic “Libro del Buen Amor” (Book of Good Love) and “Doña Endrina” (Lady Endrina) performed by Escarrán Teatro. The Seminar dealt on the theoretical point of view regarding the main mediaeval characters. And as a final apotheosis, the Misteri in one of the last performances before being declared World Heritage, by the Unesco, as Immaterial Cultural World Heritage.
