Every year the Medieval Festival of Elche involves the city in the mistic and sounds of remote times. International artists bring through music, theatre and parallel activities the opportunity to encounter the past.

Festival's History

2nd Edition

In 1992, also under the direction of Mr. Luis Quirante, Elx began to find a place among the national festivals with a distinctive seal: A themed Festival with a scholarly research vocation, bringing in, at the same time, new activities such as exhibitions and conferences. During the Festival the journal “Festa d’Elx” was presented and we had many more performances such as the spectacle “Cette année, là” by “Les Plasticiens Volants” or “Nit Màgica” by Xarxa Teatre.

This second edition also had an original exhibition of Mexican pre-Hispanic masks. The seminar versed mainly of cultural events in the Middle Age territories under Catalan influence.
