Natural spaces of high ecological value
Elx is a fine example of how a high level of economical activity doesn’t necessarily mean a lack of respect for spaces of high environmental value. We must point out the Mediterranean marshlands. You will be able to observe a privileged catalogue of flora and fauna species. The Natural Park of El Fondo, with its 2387 hectares is the most important marshland system. It is a migratory station for birds on the way forth and from Africa.
The Fondo
The area known as the Clot de Galvany is another important marshland system near the dune and beach area. It has a local council protection statute. Classroom activities on nature are carried out throughout the year.
