Discover Elx
Capital City of the Iberian Art
Over five thousand years of history have endowed the city of Elx with a rich historical heritage that can be followed through several museums. The Iberian culture has left a remarkable seal in the city. The world famous sculpture known as the Dama d’Elx was found here in 1897. It is considered to be the masterpiece and crown jewel of Iberian art, a lovely Iberian princess with a mysterious fleeting look, a symbol for the city that wants her back from exile in the National Archaeological Museum of Madrid.

Dama d’Elx
The Archaeological Park and Museum of l’Alcúdia shows us the Iberian and Roman worlds. A vast collection of architectonic remains, ceramics and sculptures can be seen on the site. At the place where the Dama d’Elx was found a convincing reproduction can be admired. Both here and at the Archaeological City Museum samples of all the civilizations that left their marks in the district are displayed.
